🙌 Hi! Everyone, long time no see. I saw my Medium and found that my latest article was in 2018. 😅😅😅 In two years, I was busy for searching the job and started on my fresh career. I would share my vision about design if time is possible for me… haha.

This article is casual to share my experience after attending Google workshop about improving confidence. Additionally, it is my first time to write the blog in English.

Last year, I joined a special workshop called #IamRemarkable. At a glance at the website and fan page, I thought it was for women to enhance their confidence. However, when I was really on the ground, it was a little bit different from what I had initially thought.

“I heard from many women about the frustration in their career. One of the biggest challenges is that they can’t present their strength comfortably when they tried to do the self-promotion for higher management positions, like VP.” the facilitator said. Besides, she showed us the quantitative data about reality. Women don’t show their capability until they have prepared 80%, moreover, they usually express that they can’t deserve their job. However, as Zenger Folkman’s research said, men’s confidence is more than women’s in the range between the 20s and 30s. I realized why Google created this workshop.

After the introduction, the facilitator asked everyone to write down and share the most remarkable thing in life. I was nervous at first because it was difficult for me to show which I was proud of. While seeing everyone’s sharing, I got up the courage and read my sentences. “I am remarkable because I have conducted user interviews from South Asia.” Something amazing happened, a girl came towards me and said she thought I did a cool achievement after the workshop finished.

“I feel confused. I don’t know how to write because I’m afraid that my achievement is inferior to others.” some members in the workshop said. Maybe we like to compare ourselves with others. It even turns to be a bad habit and finally, we become chicken and have less confidence. What I learned in this workshop is that everyone is unique. Don’t be scared to share the advantages and comparing with others because of #IamRemarkable.
